Group Counseling Sessions
Weekly and bimonthly groups that focus on various aspects of
mental health and addiction management will be available
throughout the year. In a supportive and confidential
environment, group members learn from each other how to
effectively manage behavior, set boundaries, improve
relationships and gain self-confidence. Groups offer an ideal
adjunct to individual counseling when a more intensive approach is
indicated, but can also be used as ongoing supportive component.
Sessions are usually 1.5 to 2 hours in length.
90-120 minute: $50.00
*Please Note: When scheduling sessions you will typically hear appointment durations stated in 30 - 60 minute intervals. Please bear in mind that traditionally the last 10 minutes of a 60 minute session will be used for the purposes of documentation. Therefore a typical 1 hour session will last about 50 minutes. As my scheduling allows, and if we are in agreement that extra time is called for, session times can be extended, but can entail an added expense.
Payment
It is my policy to accept payment at the time that services are rendered. I accept cash and checks and will soon accept major credit cards.
Insurance
I currently do not bill insurance. If you would like to submit a claim to your insurance carrier I would be happy to provide you with a receipt. While I do not bill insurance for logistical reasons, it is important to note that some clients elect to pay on a fee for service basis, which is my standard method of collecting payment, for the purposes of confidentiality and to avoid the potential for 3rd party access to confidential records (Our relationship and the records thereof are private and confidential and are not shared without your explicit written permission except as required by law under exceptional circumstances, i.e., imminent threat of harm to self or others, child abuse, elder abuse. However, insurance carriers will commonly ask for diagnostic details and explanations in order to justify payment for treatment under their own policies for compensating counseling.)
